If you don't think our military pilots earn their pay ... you need to take a look at this picture ... and then look again and realize what you're seeing ...
This photo was taken by a soldier in Afghanistan of a helo rescue mission. The pilot is a PA Guard guy who flies EMS choppers in civilian life. Now how many people on the planet you reckon could set the ass end of a chopper down on the roof top of a shack on a steep mountain cliff and hold it there while soldiers load wounded men in the rear??? If this does not impress you ... nothing ever will ... I can't even imagine having the nerve ... much less the talent and ability ... God Bless our military!!!!!
Carrie is right you know. Nothing will ever impress these men again.
Could you imagine watching a movie with one of these guys?
"Wow, did you see that?"
"That was nothing!"
And they mean it!
God bless these men. Don't forget to thank them every time you see one.
UPDATE: I've been called out on this one. A reader believes this photo is fake. So, in order to prove that it is indeed real, I am going to add another photo from a different angle and I am going to post a link to the Department of Defense website showing that these photos are their's, and confirming that this event did happen. I knew it was real all along!

I think that this is truly a great thing to behold IF I THOUGHT IT WERE REAL. I have been on many helicopter operations before and I can tell you that the 'stuff' on the ground under the chopper's front blades would not be there if that chopper were really pulling enough air to stay aloft. ALSO ... where are the shadows? And another thing, anyone familiar with photography and a little something called "depth of field" would question the focus of this photo.
There are just too many question that I have. In fact, I saw a CH-47 blow a "shack" to pieces just from the propwash from it's blades. And I have seen grown men blown to the ground from the same force.
Sorry, I love my country, I was an infantryman with the 9th Regiment. I support the troops and the cause that they are fighting for but I do not believe that this is real.
That is hard to believe, isn't it? I always check my sources before posting something this unbelieveable. This IS a real photo. It is from the Department of Defense. I am going to post another shot of the helo, along with the link to the DoD website confirming this is an actual DoD photo and this event did happen.

Carrie, worry not. You're effect on men is secure. My email tells me that. The number one question I received was, "Do you really know her?" Why is that so hard to believe? Don't answer that!
