Lose Something?

Boeing 737 abandoned on Indian street
MUMBAI (UPI) -- A junker Boeing 737 jetliner has been sitting on a busy Mumbai street for days after the driver got in a jam and then simply disappeared. The saga started last weekend when the wingless aircraft, which had belonged to Air Sahara, was being driven through the city on a large trailer on its way to New Delhi. The driver apparently took a wrong turn and found himself confronted by an overpass that was too low for the plane to travel under, the BBC reported Thursday. And so there it sits. Some locals are angry about that but others see it as an instant tourist attraction. Caterer Ramji Thapar says his business is hurting because of the aircraft. 'My work is suffering because the food cannot be loaded in the big vehicles," he said. But the novelty appealed to Ankur Rane. "It's fascinating to see an airplane on the roads when one is only used to seeing cars and auto rickshaws," he said.
