Expensive Postcard

Drug-laced postcards intercepted
GOTHENBURG, Sweden (UPI) -- Swedish police said they've discovered cocaine being shipped from Peru inside special postcards. Four people face cocaine-smuggling charges after authorities claimed they found the illegal drug secreted in receptacles hidden between the front and back sides of at least 30 specially made postcards, the English-language edition of the Stockholm newspaper, The Local, reported. Each card carried six grams of cocaine, the newspaper said. "They must have been ordered from a postcard manufacturer," said Marcus Carlsson at Swedish Customs in Gothenburg. Some cards initially were detected by drug-sniffing dogs at Arlanda airport this summer. Customs officers intercepted subsequent deliveries addressed to 10 people in the Gothenburg area. Charges have been filed against four people so far.
