True Football Fans And A REAL Packer Backer

I love football. I'm a Steeler fan. Always have been. I'm also a true fan, I never jump ship when the chips are down. And the chips have been down for some time until the last two years. Thanks Ben.

Carrie, who is from the moon, is a true football fan as well. She is a Green Bay Packers fan. A Packer Backer is what they are called. Well, they're called Cheeseheads, too. But that's kind of a well meant joke. I've always liked the Packers. They are a good, honest football team. And they don't have an owner. The people of Green Bay, Wisconsin own them. Their taxes support the team. I think that's great. No arrogant stuffed shirt there to give them stupid advice. No dumb owner coming around trying to tell the team what to do. And that's a good thing. That's the coach's job. And it should be. It keeps the team a sports team, not a business. And it allows the team to concentrate on the sport. They don't have to please a know nothing owner who decides to become a hands on type of guy, even though he doesn't know which end of the football to hold (the laces).

But Carrie doesn't have a dime on this woman. Tell me she's not the greatest Packer Backer there ever was! The team has to love her!

I mean literally!

As far as the best fans out there, I'm gonna say the Browns fans have to be. They have suffered more than anyone could be expected to, but remain fiercely loyal to their beloved Browns. Tough seasons, heartbreaking last second losses, losing the team to another city at one point and way too many undeserved bad breaks. But that game last week was nothing short of amazing. Where did that come from? That team has as much talent as it does bad breaks. How do you stop them though? It's like a curse, isn't it?

And hey Chicago, you've got a team again!

Oh, and I've just been told that Carrie is NOT from the moon. I could look up where she really is from, but it's late, I'm tired and I don't feel like it. So I'm gonna say Venus.

I'm from the U.P.! I have to look at the greatest Packer Backer Cheese head ever.....did I ever tell you the story of the bartender who rememebered me in Boston because I used my Cheese Head Beer Can Holder? 6 months after I was in his bar, I sent friends in ( from the U.P.) and they told him I recommended " The Littlest Pub" and he knew EXACTLY who they were talking about. He is a great Bar owner, and you should support this man in his bar if you ever get to Boston!

Beantown is a great pub town. And there really is a Cheers, only it's not called Cheers. But you can go to the actual bar that was used in the TV show. Remember to say, "Hi Norm"!

And to those of you that don't know, when Carrie mentions the UP, she means a place that is like UPS, only without the service.

Right Carrie?
