Our Fearless Leader

Here is a photo that is both funny and sad at the same time.

Thanks to my wife for finding it.

UPDATE: A reader had this to add.

Keep in mind those are special government issue binoculars. They are capable of seeing through things such as the lens cover. Also good for seeing toothpaste, mouthwash or any liquid or gel that may be contained in a carry on bag. These binoculars, armed with a high powered laser, can take out any threat perceived by the user. Therefore, Dick Cheney is strictly forbidden to use them. Cost of binoculars: $4,000,000.78 (Wal-Mart)

All I can add is that he was a good Governor.

Good is not a relative term Johnd, you have to look at everything a man did. I will post my response.

True Tramp,
He, as all politicians, did and said some questionable and distastefule things. Remember the Savings and Loan scandel and his National Guard record. However, like you said good is a relative term. Compared to the five or so Texas Governors that proceeded him, George was among the best. Some of the things in your rebuttal I honestly don't remember, I lived in Texas from 77 to 95 before PCSing to Asia. Granted, Bush Jr. was never the sharpes knife in the drawer and always made comments and statements without thinking them through. He also had a bad memory and appeared to never have much in the morality department. He ... wait a minute, am I arguing for Jr. or against him?

In retrospect, he seemed like a good governor to a young highschool student who just suffered through Ann Richards.

He did do some good things. And I gave him credit for that in my post. But it does not excuse the terrible things he did. I never even mentioned the incident where he didn't know a mic was on and said something about wishing a reporter was from Texas so he could fry him.

Good people occasionally do bad things. And bad people occasionally do good things. So what is the final verdict on Bush? I think he is a bad one.

And don't even get me started on 9/11. You have no idea what really happened.
