Two Wolves

Corrine has an old Cherokee tale that rings true.

This is the best I have ever heard it explained!

The Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grand son thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied,

"The one you feed."

Indians have always been an interest of mine.

They have a very dramatic way with words.

And they are very knowledgeable in many, many things.

Medicine, hunting styles, cooking techniques, weapons, garments and shelter are but a few.

The way they build campfires allows you to not only adjust the heat, but to burn your wood completely witn zero waste. They arrange the wood in a starburst shape. Pushing the logs further in towars the center turns up the heat. And of course wood burned in this manner burns completely.
